STEP FOUR- READ THE BOOKS OF TOP NIGERIAN AUTHORS – There is a huge difference in being great top Nigerian authors and high selling top Nigerian authors. If you want to be successful, you must study those who are already successful. Read a lot of best selling books by international and top Nigerian authors and take note of their writing style. Between 2009 and 2010, I spent more than N300,000 on just books alone. You need to invest seriously in books and read a lot of the works of best selling top Nigerian authors in the field you want to write about.
STEP FIVE – JOIN A LOT OF ORGANISATIONS- To become a rich Nigerian author, you must start by joining a lot of sociocultural and religious organisations and almost all organisations in the niche you are writing about. The moment you select a niche, start immediately to join a lot of organisations. The reason for an upcoming Nigerian author is very simple. The very first set of 1000 books that any author will sell will be bought by people who want to encourage you as one the upcoming top Nigerian authors and not that they would even open the book. So, you need as many of such people to whom 1000 or N2000 is not a big deal. This is because if you can get 1000 of them to buy 1000 of your books at N2000 a copy, you have entered into the top Nigerian authors playing field.
STEP SIX – START TO COMPILE ALL THE STUFFS YOU HAVE BEEN WRITING ABOUT INTO A MANUSCRIPT – As a Nigerian author, I never knew this was as easy as I found it to be. Compile your write ups but make sure that its up to at least 35,000 words. If you took the observation step seriously, you will find this very easy to do.
STEP SEVEN – GET COPIES OF HIGH SELLING TOP NIGERIAN AUTHORS BOOKS AND LOOK FOR A PUBLISH THAT CAN CREATE THAT QUALITY OF WORK FOR YOU – When I was ready to publish my first book, I looked for the people that published for Rev, Sam Adeyemi and went to them. The design of your book and the title of the books must be very excellent. If you miss this two, you have lost more than half of the sales you would have made as a Nigerian author. What I do normally is to create two designs, take it to book sellers and book buyers and ask them to pick the design and title they like the most. The most liked title and design is the one I go for and most times they are rarely the ones I preferred
STEP EIGHT – START TO MARKET IN YOUR ORGANISATIONS – This is the time to become a rich Nigerian author. Start to sell your books to the members of the organisations you belong to.Start to give out free copies to influential members of the organisations. I promise you that if the design and title are great and appeal and you have been a very active member of those organisations, you would find it easier to make your first one million as a Nigerian author than if you had not.
STEP NINE- START TO MARKET TO YOUR FRIENDS – Family and friends are the people that will buy your books first and you need their momentum to help you navigate through the initial take off days as a Nigerian author. Most of them will buy to encourage you and you need that encouragement. But most importantly if you did a great job with your book, this will open another income stream for you which is giving you opportunities to make more money as a………..
