A new dawn is coming to Lagos pharmacy practice. The change we have been fighting for has finally arrived and it came by the hands of God because what was designed to destroy me turned out to be a great pharmacy practice turn around affair.
I was invited to Pharmacist Council of Nigeria head quarters in Idu Abuja yesterday. It was initially meant to be a prelude to my coming before a disciplinary committee but when the Abuja panel heard the facts that I presented and the documented evidence and details a victim that came with me presented to them, they accepted that indeed something massive has to be done about Lagos pharmacy practice.
Now I will not share what happened at the meeting because of some wise sayings of a wise elder pharmacist at the meeting ( he is one of our very senior Colleague who is a PCN staff ) one of his saying is that yes I might be right but that there are certain ways of correcting an elder when he is wrong, we do not directly and openly correct an elder. He also said that when a man is quarrelling with his wife and they fight in public, even when they have made up, people will still be talking about their fight.
All I can say for now is that after all the details of what we presented to them, Pharmacist council of Nigeria Abuja saw that there is indeed a big problem in Lagos and has agreed to come down to Lagos just to listen to the grievances of Lagos pharmacists. So as to improve Lagos pharmacy practice.
So, I have been mandated to organise a forum where all pharmacists in Lagos and environ interested in bettering the lots of pharmacy practice in Lagos will come together and state what the problem they have been having with any aspect of pharmacy practice is.
The objective of the meeting is to help PCN Abuja understand the challenges of Lagos and fashion out an enduring way for moving pharmacy practice in Lagos in particular and Nigeria in General forward.
I will be come up with the date and venue for the forum when we conclude all the necessary arrangements.
I want to end with what the PCN head of Legal unit said at the meeting we had.
PHARMACY PRACTICE LAW IN NIGERIA IS ONE AND THE SAME ALL OVER NIGERIA. NO STATE OR GROUP OF PEOPLE UNDER ANY GUISE HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO COME UP WITH THEIR OWN RULES OR REFUSE TO OBEY SOME OF THE RULES OR SELECTIVELY APPLY SOME OF THE RULES TO CERTAIN PEOPLE.
I also want to tell all those calling me to say thank you for helping them get back their rights denied them by certain people in Lagos pharmacy practice that it was not me that did it but God just wanted to help them sort their cases out. I was just a Jonah like the Jonah in the bible.
I have wanted to give up a lot of times but I discovered that any time I stopped fighting the cause for equity in Lagos pharmacy practice, my finance will mysterious start drying up. It only begins to flow again when I pick up from where I left off.
I hope though that Baba God will be satisfied with the level of effort I have put into this thus far and not interrupt my finances again now that the desired change has almost arrived in Lagos pharmacy practice.
God bless Nigeria pharmacy practice
