NEVER FORGET THAT YOU READ PHARMACY PRIMARILY TO BECOME RICH

rich nigeria (1)

Why are some pharmacists so confused? Why is it that a lot of pharmacists do not know why they read the course in the first place. A lot of people have been asking me to focus less on making money. My question to you is why did you read pharmacy?  Let me also answer it for you. You read pharmacy so that you can make money from it as a pharmacist nothing more nothing less. Whatever else you tell yourself is self deception and you better wake up from that lie.

You have been working as a pharmacist so that you can make money to take care of yourself and your family. You take up pharmaceutical sales job or other jobs just to make money nothing more nothing less. Stop decieving your self about the greater calling and serving humanity. Yes you want to serve humanity but I am sure that if you are asked to work as a pharmacist without pay and your child is asking for her school fees, that you will jump at the first R and G job that comes your way.

I have been getting all kinds of mails. Some tell me to focus more on the clinical side of the practice others ask me to talk less about making more money. But I ask, for the five years you were in pharmacy school, what were you taught. Nothing but how to be a good pharmacist. Now you are working and you want to be taught more on how to be a good pharmacist. If you know all the clinical pharmacy but do not know how to convert that knowledge to cash, how will that make your life better.

I read pharmacy for five years and I was taught about business management in pharmacy school for less than 10 hours. I graduate and try to run a business and the traders are laughing at me with all my knowledge. They know that book knowledge and business knowledge are not the same. And with my pharmacy knowledge, I started and later crashed a multi million naira business. I come to realisation that what I missed was business managemnt knowledge.

I get the business managment knowledge, start to deploy it and my income starts to sky rocket again. I teach people what I know and their busines starts to improve. Now a pharmacist who is being paid a salary of less than a $1000 by a business man still wants me to talk less about making money. Is that not crazy? Have you looked at Forbes wealthy rich i.e those that made money without stealing it or embezzling it. Is there any pharmacists on that list? Well my goal is to get at least one nigerian professional who made his we alth from business without stealing it unto the forbes list.

That is my primary reason for focusing on starting a university that will graduate only business entreprenuers.

If you want more clinical knowledge go and do your masters but if you want to run a profitable business and make more money to sustain yourself and your family and look respectable as a pharmacist, then conttinue reading my write ups.

I refuse to apologise for choosing to show pharmacists how to become financially literate so as to better their lot. I refuse to write half a sentence article on clinical, medical or therapeutic pharmacy if it does not show how you can make more money from my write up.

Cheers.

The question I asked was has the pharmacist oath changed? But after going thru the piece then I found a lot of sense in it. Knowledge without financial freedom is valueless. Most of my time nowadays is dedicated to teaching the young ones how to make money and retire young. More grease to your elbow.

Well said however, it is important to emphasise that ethics of the profession should not be thrown into the bin and expense of money.

      Dear Oladele,
Almost all the groups and pages about Nigerian pharmacists online are doing that. So I want to focus on what they are ignoring

      Dear Sam,
I want to clarify the purpose of this site so that people will stop asking me to focus more on medical information. My purpose is to teach basic management concepts that can help a pharmacists grow his business
