I am calling out to PSN Nigeria members to come and help make suggestions that will move pharmacy practice forward. I have been working with some regulators in trying to improve the pharmacy practice in Lagos. I recently decided to address my case to the pharmaceutical inspection committee (P.I.C). I have a list of things that I personally want to change in the pharmacy practice in Lagos.
I wrote a letter last week asking to address Lagos P.I.C and I was invited yesterday to come and address them. at their next sitting.
Based on this, I would love all Lagos based pharmacists to send me any grievance they may have or any area that they desire to see changes in Lagos. I will be talking about issues like delay in premises inspection and poor remuneration of superintendent pharmacists by their employers.
I believe that changes does not need too many people to start. It needs just one person with a strong desire to see some changes happen. We cannot all sit down and be asking for improvement in pharmacy practice in Nigeria while none of us is willing to come out to inform the regulators about what is hampering their practice. If we can start by improving the practice in Lagos, it will only be a matter of time before changes are seen in the profession.
