There are important registration documents I will strongly advise all pharmacists especially young ones to get. For young pharmacist found a wonderful location suitable for a retail pharmacy outfit. He paid for the place and immediately rushed to apply PCN for location approval. There he was told that his application will not be attended to unless he attached his CAC documents.
A lot of times, most pharmacists wait until they are about to register a premises before going to incorporate a company. The problem is that if time is running against you, you do not want CAC documentation to be the reason why you will lose a location that you have already secured.
I will strongly suggest that you get your CAC documents. This is one of the important registration documents you must have ready at all times. For me, I incorporated my company right after my internship. During my youth service, the Certificate of incorporation was one of the important registration documents that I needed to set up my business as a corper in Yobe state.
Because I had these important registration documents, I was running businesses as a corper and no one even knew that I was a corper. When another opportunity to apply for NAFDAC registration came up right after my service, I already had my certificate of incorporation.
The other reason why I will advise all young pharmacists to get their certificate of incorporation is because of what has been happening with Corporate Affairs Commision recently.
Corporate affairs commission in recent times have been experiencing a lot of system glitches. These have been causing unusually long delays in getting your important registration documents processed at CAC. You do not want one of these glitches to hold you back when you want to register a company.
Finally, bear in mind that if you are a pharmacist and want to run a retail pharmacy, that its advisable to use people with the same surname as you as your shareholders and directors. This will help PCN see that your shareholders and directors are all relatives. Retail pharmacies can only be owned by a pharmacist and her relatives.
